About this identification tool and its limitations
This is a comparison tool, not a diagnosis. A match is a creature whose existing record mentions the selected traits. It does not establish identity, intent, or danger.
- Its 205 records come from a manually edited creature catalog. They are not a complete inventory of every published creature.
- Search tags for anatomy, sounds, behavior, and boundary interaction are automatically extracted from descriptive notes. This is a working index; it can miss synonyms or include an imperfect match.
- “Require all selected clues” filters by tags recorded in this dataset. An omitted tag is not proof that a creature lacks the trait. Disable strict matching to compare partial candidates.
- Do not assume a creature cannot fly, teleport, or speak merely because nobody saw it do so. No armor class, hit points, resistances, or elemental weaknesses are provided.
- The utility runs entirely in this browser. Observations are not uploaded or saved to a server.
